Rob Dowling, LMT

Rob Dowling is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Maryland and has been providing Massage Therapy Services for over 20 years. Rob graduated in 1999 from Potomac Massage Training Institute, an accredited program including coursework in Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Practical Application of Massage, and Ethics.

Prior to his training in Massage, Rob worked as a Physical Therapy Aide. This experience makes him well-aware of the needs of patients, and Rob enjoys working alongside the Chiropractors and Physical Therapists at Quince Orchard Medical Center.

Medical Massage is a brief but focused session. Rob is very patient-oriented and personalizes his work to gain the most physical and mental improvement for the patient in conjunction with their ongoing treatment.

Rob passed the Certification Exam of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 1999. He is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association. He has been certified at the highest level in Connective Tissue Massage, also known as Myofascial Massage. This technique manipulates the fascial tissue which encases and connects the body parts, including muscles, tendons, organs, etc. The resulting benefit is more elasticity and the body’s ability to move more freely and with decreased pain and stiffness.

Rob cross-trains year-round with his fitness class that focuses on total body wellness, including cardio, strength training, HIIT, plyometrics, Pilates, etc. While Rob has a real passion for proper body mechanics and fitness, he is also a singer! Rob is in his sixth year as a member of Harmony Express, Germantown’s barbershop style mixed a cappella chorus, and currently serves as Chapter President. Rob enjoys spending time with his wife and college-aged daughter, playing various board games even though he seldom wins! He also likes to go on outdoor adventures with them, including kayaking, canoeing, hiking and viewing the Perseids meteor shower every August.
