What to expect when you come in for a Workers Compensation Claim
We understand that being in an accident is not only physically painful, but also mentally and emotionally stressful as well. At Quince Orchard Medical Center we strive to reduce not only the physical pain through your treatment, but also the stress of dealing with your workers compensation claim. Our insurance department has years of experience dealing with hundreds of cases, and will partner with you to guide you through the process as it pertains to your medical treatment.
If you have been injured on the job, you will need to fill out an accident report for your employer to submit to their worker’s compensation insurance carrier. You should be given information for the insurance company, the name and phone number for the claims adjuster, and a claim number. When you make your first appointment with us, we will need this information in order to obtain authorization from your claims adjuster for treatment.
If your worker’s compensation insurance company is denying your claim or begins to deny your visits for treatment before your clinician believes you should be released, we would recommend you consult with an attorney that specializes in workers compensation claims. They will be able to assess your best course of action, as well as file an appeal with the Maryland Worker’s Compensation Commission, which can require the insurance company to pay for additional treatment.
